3D graphics and Animation

Hi

Im just doing some research for a mate of mine who wants to prodice a kids story book in Flash or something smilar, now i am sure i could figure out how to do the Flash part

I need some advice on how 3D charcters are produced , using which software etc and any tutorials wuld be nice

The kind of thing i mean is

ie the charcters on the homepage and the animation in the actually site

I know this is alot to ask, but any pointers would be cool

It would require some 3d software. 3dmax is the industry standard but I have heard that Poser is the best for creating people.

If you're looking for free stuff, blender is a good package. It has a bit of a steep learning curve, though.

If you want to do 3D with flash, you'll probably want to get Swift 3D. I think you can also get a plug-in for 3DS Max that will render to flash (made by Swift 3D). Keep in mind that 3DS Max is about $3000 USD. Sign up for a class at a local community college and get a student discount. Should pay for the class and then some .
