a very annoying little thing
Can someone answer this problem ? here is a site I am working on, http://www.itsmy-space.co.uk/kingarthur/index.htm please excuse the text it is not my doing and is yet to be ok'd anyway if you click on the accommodation link the site shifts a few pixels to the left, then every other page is positioned in the same place but as soon as you click back to the home page it shifts to the right again. I have tried matching the pages code and I have even deleted the home page then using another page as a base re-made the home page but as soon as it is saved and previewed it shifts.
any ideas ??? |

Do you mean the whole page shifts when the page is longer, then you could probably write some HTML to have scrollbars on all the time.

Nope it's not a scroll bar thing coz if you look at the home page there is a scroll bar track there, it's something else. Thanks for the reply though.

I've having the same problem with the Contact Us and Support pages at www.mpowerbroadband.com . The pages use the same template, and the scroll bars don't seem to cause any movement on any of the other sections. Could it have anything to do with these 2 pages being ASP (and something to do with the way the web server is parsing the content)??
Looking forward to feedback, thanks in advance! |

I think it is becuase on your page your code is different. Looking at the source code if u compare home and accomodation, they use different widths. Make the homepage a few pixels wider.
Hope it fixes ure prob. Adi www.trowbridge-wiltshire.co.uk |

I dont know. The way you have coded has made it extremely hard to find the problem.
This PHP Code:
Could be deleting the cellpadding and cellspacing taken out as you are not using it. this applies thoughout the whole website, and will make your code much shorter. Your could also use classes and stylesheets if you want tobecome XTML complient. These will make your website matainance much easier than at present. Hope it helps. Sorry if you were already thinking about this. Adrian www.trowbridge-wiltshire.co.uk |
