About Tripod.com?
Hi
When we sign up with Tripod.com, our website would be located at http://username.tripod.com; but what i really interested in how come they are able to generate so many "subdomain" for each user? Is it due to some configuration in their web server? Thank you

tripod.com have their own DNS server which declares (rightfully) that it is the expert on tripod.com.
so.. you try to go to mysite.tripod.com (assuming there's no caching going on) and a query will go to .com for where tripod.com is.. .com will then query tripod.com to find out where mysite is. |
