Alternative to installing a few odd browsers
I recently ran across this and seems like it will be a rather usefull free tool. Browsershots

We're trying to make this service easy to use, open for all (including access to the source code) and 100% free, as in free beer.

Project status
Public beta testing. Submit your website and we will try to make screenshots of it.

The problem
This project is concerned with a favorite problem of web designers: websites look different in other browsers. Testing a new site in many browsers can be quite time-consuming. Not everybody has a farm of legacy machines with older OSes and browsers. There are online services that offer screenshots of websites in different browsers for considerable fees. For the hobbyist and for open source projects, these fees may be prohibitive.

Community to the rescue!
The idea behind this project is to distribute the work of making browser screenshots among community members. Everybody can add URLs to the job queue on a central server. Volunteers use a small program to automatically make screenshots of web pages in their browser and upload the results to the server.

Running a screenshot factory
The script can run completely unattended.
Processes jobs only when there is no other CPU load.
Inside a VNC server (no graphics card or monitor needed).
For example on a print server.
We provide a FactoryInterface specification based on HTTPS and XHTML and a simple reference implementation of a ShotFactory program in Python.

If you're going to do a lot of testing it's easier to install a bunch of browsers than to wait for those screenshots.

True but I don't plan on installing OS X just to test with safari or installing linux just to test those versions of the browsers. Like I said it's just a free alternative that some people might find usefull.

I'm getting feedback that my website isn't displaying properly on some systems, but it looks fine on all the computers I've used.

It sounds like some images or forms are overlapping other things so it'll need tweaking, therefore getting screenshots would be way to slow for me to adjust the position of images.

So I figured I'd download an old version of IE, maybe IE 4, but I'm struggling to find any download link that works! Can anyone suggest a place I can download old browsers?

I'm running IE 6 and Firefox. My website is for teachers so they generally use old school computers!
