bandwidth limiting for a broadband connection
Ok, we have a broadband connection and are designing a website. When I design content for the site, I need to know how fast (or how long) it will take for a user who has dialup to download. I COULD probobly add up KB and do the math, but it would be much easier to just test my self. But like I said, we have a broadband connection.
Is there a piece of software which can limit my connection speed so I can see how long my website takes to load on a specific connection? So, I actually want to SLOW DOWN my broadband connection... sounds dumb, but I think it would help with my website design. In Christ, Tony P. |

You can use Netlimiter. It is a great program for controling the bandwidth usage for every application that is connected to the web.
From their website: "NetLimiter is an ultimate internet traffic control and monitoring tool designed for Win98/Win98 SE, WinME, Win2000 and WinXP. You can use NetLimiter to set download/upload transfer rate limits for applications or even single connection and monitor their internet traffic. Along with this unique feature, Netlimiter offers comprehensive set of internet statistical tools. It includes real-time traffic measurement and long-term per-application internet traffic statistics" Code:
