best font for 800x600 resolution??

Hi there,

Was just wondering does anyone know a good font to use when designing for 800x6oo resolution??ive tried alot of the ones on my computer and they're all coming out a bit blurred.is there any way around this or will it be like this for all fonts because of the low resolution??
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Laurie

Hi Laurie,

Hmm, why do you want to make a site for that resolution anyhow? Most folks nowadays are using 1024x728 for their resolution. 17" monitors are the standard now, and have been for a few years. Usually sticking with Arial, Verdana, Times, etc. will do ya just fine. They will look super in the 1024x728 resolution also.

Hope this helps!

A 14pt or higher sans-serif font like Arial will probably look the cleanest. But there is nothing you can really do about the blur. Every user has a different computer with different settings.

As long as your page is readable you're covered in that regaurd.

you definately want to make your site viewable in 800*600, I've been checking the latest web stats from various sources and approx 40% of people browse at this resolution.

I agree! Most older people I know use 800x600 because their vision is not as great as it once was.

Also alot of people don't surf with their browser maximized. So even in larger resolutions there's a high chance your site will be viewed at 800x600.
