bookmarks issue

hello,
one of my clients has a frames website. When i navigate to the careers section and bookmark the page, it gets bookmarked as www.domain.com.

If I use IE 6 to get to that bookmark, it will go to the careers page
If I use mozilla, then it will go to www.domain.com

any ideas?

it's just the way frames work...unfortunately.

It may be that the website has IE specific code that lets the user bookmark the page they expected to be bookmarked. Or it may be IE goes the extra step to bookmark what it perceives as the correct page for a frames website. But frames websites are really only on one page, the main page. So when a user bookmarks the page they aren't bookmarking the page within the frame, but the framed page itself. Now, some users have learned that they can click within the frame and bookmark the page that way, but what happens is that when they revisit the page they don't get the website, only that one single webpage. Usually no menu... just the webpage.

There are scripts out there that let you bookmark frames pages. They aren't so common anymore since frames are all but dead... but it's worth a look over at www.hotscripts.com
