This should be an easy one, "sales.site.com" instead of "site.com/sales" They are both -could be- subwebs right?
like http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com "mysite.com/sales" is what I get and "sales.site.com" is what I would like. How do you go about setting up sales.mysite.com? |

When you create a sub-domain on a server, it has to point somewhere. And usually the easiest way to keep everything organized is to point the sub-domain to a folder named the same thing.
Are you hosting this yourself or using a hosting company? If you are hosting this yourself - are you on Windows or UNIX?

Not too certain myself there. You will need to e-mail /call them to see if they support sub-domains.

In
this.that.com/other The word "this" is a sub-domain. The word "other" is a sub-directory. They are wholly different animals. |

true, except that, when you create a subdomain, it creates a subdirectory and points to it. therefore: this.that.com/index.html will point to the same place as that.com/this/index.html If you have a control panel for your hosting account you may have the ability to set this up yourself, ask your hosting company about it. luck, robert |
