changing a bitmap to vector art
i have fireworks and freehand at my disposal, and here's my issue.
i've been given a company logo in bitmap form. i'd like to enlarge it, but with bitmaps, the graphic will lose its integrity. how can i change it to vector form? also, the graphic i a bit tricky, so should I select different parts of it and change it to vector format in sections? thanks in advance for your help, |

Bitmaps are the lowest form of life in the graphics food chain, basiclly it is a bunch of small squares that come together to form an image. Try using the fireworks export wizard and upgrade it into a png or a gif or jpg depending if you need transparency.
You could take it farther and actually re-do the logo now that you have a rough draft (which is what a bitmap really is) and if you have freehand you are on your way!
