Hi All,
I want to know is there any way I can view the contents of the public folder of a website. I understand that if there exists index.htm or home.htm it would take me directly to the home page of the website. So it is only possible if either of the said two files do not exist in the public_html folder of the website. But if they exist then how do I view the files and folders existing in the public_html folder of the website. FTP is another solution but it is only possible if anonymous login is allowed on the website. So, please suggest any other way I can accomplish this. Regards Susheel |

aside from getting access from the host/owner, i don't see how you would get to view their ftp folder. if you know file names, you could just type them into the url after the web address.

A lot of people don't want you to know every file they have on thier server.

in fact, any decent server admin has directory listings turned off.
YOu may be able to ftp in to the webserver and play guess the web root though
