Convert cdr files to svg

I have a CDR file (Corell Draw) plus TTFs used there and want to edit it, but have no tool to edit CDR directly.
The CDR is a source for creating a business card. Now my friend wants me to create a logo out of it (JPEG,PNG,GIF, whatever image format)
All I have is the Inkscape.

By the way, I have no experience with image conversion.

My env:
Fedora Core 6
P3 1GHz, 512MB RAM, quite a few GIGs of free disk space.

Any hints appreciated.
A functional guide greatly appreciated

I think you're SOL on this one. You won't be able to open or edit the file unless you use Corel Draw, and worse, it will have to be the right version. If you can find someone to open the file for you, ask them to save it as a tiff or eps file, which you will then be able to open with gimp, or probably import into inkscape. I have a design company and we quite often have people sending us cdr files and expecting us to work with them. I used to maintain one copy of Corel just in case but its a monster install and I couldn't be bothered to keep it up to date just for the odd use. Now we send the files back and ask for something we can work with.

Thanks for your reply.
I've fiddled around with some applications and the situation proves what you claim.
Luckily my friend droped my a PDF version of the CDR file so a use a free PDF2SVG convertor. It works OK. It actualy produces an XML "descriptor" of the SVG which can be loaded by Inkscape. I hope I'm correct at this .
Whatever, It just made the work I needed.
