Convert DWF to something
A customer of mine has a DWF file of thier logo. DWF is a free CAD file format of 3D vectors. They want this log on their website and they want it to spin (rotate on an axis).
I've never messed with a DWF. I have Flash at my disposal, and that will probably be the final format. I need some ideas and help with this file. I need to convert it to something I can use. I don't know how this is going to work... I may need a series of eps files... one for each frame. I may need to import it as some sort of video file. What tools are available to do what I need? I'm Googling like a madman. |

Thats a tricky one, but I think I have the solution. Download the following FREE convertor. It converts DWF files to BMP/Jpeg/Gif etc. http://www.freefirestudio.com/download/acmecad.exe I have not tried it myself but it should work ok. Hope this helps, Duncan......Oh and Good Luck ----------------------------------- If I helped you, please add to my reputation by clicking the scales above. |

If the linked software doesn't help, please upload the file and I will have a look at it for you.

Can't attach a file. I'm using Firefox and I get a JavaScript error when I click "Manage Attachments"... not a good thing to note about the forums ;-) But that's beside the point.
Here's the DWF file. I've tried AcmeCAD. I still have it installed. It won't open the DWF file for some reason. Maybe the DWF is the wrong version.... who knows. While I would prefer not to use bitmaps, I may not have a choice. I would prefer vectors. It'll probably have to be a series of snapshots: take snapshot, rotate 10 degrees, take snapshot, rotate 10 degress, and so on, take the snapshots into Flash and make the animation. Shockwave is not an option in this case. |
