Creating a Web Portal

Hi guys. Im pretting new to the whole webpage scene. Me and my friends are creating a flash game site and i thought it would be a great feature to have a web portal where you could sign up to play and could comment on our games and add games to their favorites and stuff like that.

Im pretty fluent in actionscripting with macromedia flash so i understand sum of the terms associated with HTML and PHP but i was wondering if there was a tutorial out there on how to create a portal?

thanx alot guys

There are several php portals that are pre built one of the biggest I know of is PHP-NUKE.

There is actually a article here on devshed about created a template system that would probably suffice for what you are trying to do!

Its building a site engine, its a 5 part tutorial here is article 1 for ya I would assume that you could find the other ones on your own.

If you look on the site, I was the creator of the fix for the login error on php nuke in safe mode (username: intellis) even though I took down the site that hosted the fix alot of people have it so if you ever need it just email some of the people on the board who asked about it!

i hate all of them!

i hate all of these pre-build portals PHP-NUKE, Post Nuke.
its just a thing you dont need, you cant customize as you wish.

there many things integrated that you or your guest wont use in his life.
those portals look very complicated und ugly!

i m not a fan of those sites..

instead of using these pre-made crap, i would develope myself only what i need.
if you cant develope by yourself just pay some mony and get you own site. not site like everyone outthere..
