Do you suggest a messenger on the site?
I have seen yahoo massenger on some site with the lable "I am online" and I liked it. They are used for online support.
What is your opinion. Is there a better way? Which one is better? |

There are lots of other solutions. Take a look at the HostGator website (www.hostgator.com) and you'll see a chat icon on the left hand side there. So they seem to be using Click Chat Sold which works well. But if you search Google there are lots of other examples.
You could also use a simple messaging program, like yahoo messenger as you suggest. It's possible to get online status indicators for all the major IM programs - take a look here for examples. |
