favicon disappearing...
hey people. i am using firefox and my favicon works (sometimes) on the main page, but when i click a link to another page it disappears. all the location callers are the same.

This may not be the cause of your problem, favicons being the joyfully bug-ridden things they are, but I encountered similar problems with my site that was hosted on an isp (e.g. www.someisp.com/~mysite). It seemed the browser was getting confused as to just which root directory it would look to for the favicon. Sometimes you would see mine, sometimes theirs, sometimes the folded page.
I cleared my cache and that seemed to fix it (80% of the time). But, that's only on my browser. If anyone has discovered a way to make favicons appear consistantly I would love to hear it. |

As above, additionally Inernet explorer is particularly buggy. Netscape / Firefox are OK. Check out favicon for more info.

it doesn't seem to work in firefox. and as for looking for root directories; i used the entire url for it's location (i.e. 'http://...') and still no joy.

I have the favicon located in both the root and image dir and use relative paths. See if that will help.

i made sure my pages were both valid xhtml and css and then i tried everything and every possible idea. nothing seemed to work for me, this time (¬¬). thanks people. i guess it must be my servers
