Hi, I want to add a 'forum' page to my firms intranet site where people can post questions and other people can post answers. I'm not looking for a complete 'This is how to build a forums site' answer, but I dont even know where to start! I just want to know what language I would use so I can start researching

Hi,

You will need access to Server Side technologies, such as PHP, ASP or the likes. You would probably need a database too to store messages, though you can use text files as well.

Try searching for forums at hotscripts for example. There are hundreds out there

You'd be better off just downloading a forum package rather than writing your own from scratch. phorum makes a good low-impact intranet forum; IPB is a great board for heavy traffic intranets or internet sites.
