Free conversion from BMP to GIF89a

I'm looking to set up a web site and have a graphics file .bmp that I need to convert to a GIF file. Can you help me locate one?

Hi all you need to do is open the file in Photoshop - resize it or crop it if needed and then save it using the SAVE AS command in the GIF format

There are numerous applications that can convert your files into web ready images. To convert an image file into a gif89a, you will need something a little more than MS Paint. Try going to http://www.softseek.com or a site like it and search for Free Image Editors and/or GIF89a and Transparent Gif. FYI: You do not need to save as GIF89A unless you want a transparent background
