Just a bug In your all's ear............

The cache saving stuff is a problem in every html embed, this may be on another thread but I remember many java applet issues, and other macromedia issues with cache crap.

My advice for people starting is to first blame that before assuming a code issue, delete your temp internet file if necessary and remove all your cookies, Your operating system will recreate it if it sees it missing

I've had experiences where Dreamweaver makes a copy of your site and keeps it tucked away in it's own nooks, usually in it's application folder. You think you're working on one site but you're actually working on another.

Try doing a search for an html file in the site you're working on and see how many hits you get.

For the subthread Frontpage vs. Dreamweaver: I try not to even type the word F******** if I can help it. Any program that writes things like <font face="arial"><p></font> is crap. Dreamweaver writes better code, but I've found some huge drawbacks in Dreamweaver, namly that I couldn't attach a javascript to a text link. The help file comfirmed this fact. Of course, I just went into code view to do it. I think the table editor is crap as well, it tries to think for me and is almost always wrong.

I used Adobe Golive before Dreamweaver and found it much more powerful and simple to use. It has it's issues too, mind, but in a professional, fast-paced design studio environment, it was far better.

TopStyle works pretty well also...

But I use DW mostly.... I used to use FrontPage because of the shared borders... but I got sick of the bogus and illegal code that FP put in... and that IE would display correctly, when no other browsers could handle it...
