Header, banner, logo ideas?

Hi all,

First off, I apologise if this is in the wrong forum.

I have been running a site and forum for the last two months, and recently the site has become extremely popular. It`s an ongoing build, adding new pages and data.

One thing has been bugging me, and one my moderators mentioned this.

The logo we use for the site and forum is drab! It is something I knocked together on PSP7 very quickly. I have no artistic flair, and have been sat here scratching my head trying to figure something out.

We are a weather site based in Canada, so a logo based around that theme might be an idea.

I was hoping (pretty please) some artistic person can help me out a little, with some ideas. I`m not asking for logos as I know that`s being cheeky! Unless of course some kind person wants to make one for me

Seriously though, any artistic guidance would be appreciated as my brain has just gone numb!!

Umm...well first maybe instead of the boring blue template for the site, use some gratients and for the logo, have the words look like lightning , and put a rain texture under it?

Host a contest on your site to create a banner! You have 70 or so registered members who already have an interest in your site's topic...it would pique interest and maybe even get new members in.

Also, I sent you an e-mail...I'd like to try my hand at creating a banner for your site.

Hrm, not to be picky but your harbor cam seems to be in Dartmouth, other side of the bridge, not Halifax.
