Post I Need Help With My Website!

Hi, my name is Christopher Petty. I am currently 15 years old, but will be 16 in November! Ok, back to business! I am trying to create a website of my own that I know people of all ages will like. I was going to do a virtual pet website, but I figured people don't wanna play with a non-moving creature, so now I want to make an MMORPG (massive multiplayer online roleplaing gane) site. I haven't come up with the name, or any ideas for it, but I would like some info about creating this type of site and what tools and programs I need before I start. Here a list of my questions:

1) What program or software is best for 3d animation-type websites (land, people, buildings, etc.)?
2) What program or software is best for doing website acoustics (sound, noise, etc.)?
3) What doe it cost monthly/annually to run this type of website?
4) Should I get a server and whats the average payment for them?
5) Anything else you'd like to add that will help...

Without wanting to sound like a killjoy

What experience have you got with 3D modelling, image manipulation, spatial concept design, or simple graphics packages? Also what prorgamming experience do you have?

Unless you are particularly experienced in the above concepts I would set my sights a little lower.

Cost is a relative concept. How much storage space will you require, what server technologies will you be using, what bandwidth will you need, how many concurrent users will you be catering for?

There's a lot more to consider than buying a server box, loading a game on it and giving people your address.

I'm afraid I have to agree. There is no way you'd manage to do that as a first major project.

I agree with the others. There is no way you will make an MMORPG, start off small then build up. I reccommend starting with an RPG first. That should take you about 6 months to a year make. If you don't believe me try it,

I don't think he wants to make a MMORPG - just to create a kind-of fansite.

I think you'd be better off with the virtual pet site.

He says he wants to make an MMORPG site, not an MMORPG. I'm probably wrong though
