Hey,
I don't know if this is the best place to post this, but here it goes. I run a photography site. Currently, I am using SPGM as my gallery script. I am distributing photography. The photos are taken at 5mp. Obviously this is very large (roughly 2MB an image), and they need to be made smaller. I need three versions of each image. 1) Original Image for my archive, not to distribute on website, and to sell. 2) Thumbnail with _thb prefix in title. 3) Medium Sized Image. Displayed when users click the thumbnail. Name must be same as name after the _thb prefix in the thumbnail. Currently I have to manually save each image, and then rename. Since I am working in bulk, this takes LOTS of time and I have neglected the website. Does anybody have any ideas how to automate this process? I currently have Adobe Photoshop. ~Danny |

If you go to my Freebies site:
http://www.freebies-4-you.com click on web design and then on Easy Thumbnails you can download a superb little program which allows you to create thumbnails in batches with your own prefix. Hope that helps.

I'd recommend Easy Thumbnails also, but if you've already got Photoshop, it should be possible to create a batch script which should be able to do what you want.

I've tried with photoshop. In order to do a 'Save for Web' with the images though, I have to name them manually.

Hmm... ok. Well that doesn't matter because Easy Thumbnails, which petersmart suggested, will work fine. It can process lots of files at once and add _thb to the end.
