It is 16/32 pixel image, in ico format.

html in your head:
PHP Code:
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" />
<
link rel="icon" href="favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" />
I've seen different sources say either of these links, and some say none is needed at all. I believe it may depend on the browser.

You can convert an image at this website if your image editor won't save:http://www.chami.com/html-kit/services/favicon/

You ended that sentence with a preposition!

Hey,

In my experience those links are not needed, but as NotGoddess says it is probably dependent on the browser. Just save "favicon.ico" in your main web directory. I use http://www.axiomx.com/PixelToolbox/ to edit and create icons, it is a great peice of software and best of all its free!

For IE, you do not need those links. For other browsers, you should only need the "shortcut icon" one. I have never heard of you needing one that is just "icon".
