Me helping YOU
ok just so no 1 has to freak out like i did. recently i accidently deleted my employers ENTIRE site... i was freaking out like you couldnt believe. i was searching everywhere looking for a way 2 recover the files when i realized the next day that i can just go onto the software that i put the site on. i use Smart FTPv.10 now when using this program u put all ur files from ur pc onto it an it converts them to html and puts them on the site so it is a BACKUP copy. so i just went onto smart ftp put in my password copied all the files and pasted em into my original folder. now im not sure if any 1 uses smart FTP but i would HIGHLY recomend it as it seriously saved my ***.

Well, the companies I've worked for always had a dev server or dev folder, and then a live server or a live (root) folder. Always do your work in the dev side, test it, and then when you're happy with it, move it to the live side.
