Online shopping cart

Hi,

I am trying to create an online shopping cart with macromedia dreamweaver MX. I was told that using PHP is a good way to go, does anyone else have any other suggestions?

PHP is great for that, as long as your host supports it.
Unless you absolutely need some custom features that only you can build, you may try looking at the many carts already available. Like http://www.oscommerce.org or http://www.cpcommerce.org (or Google for Free PHP Shopping Cart)
If you still want to build it take a look at this article. http://www.devarticles.com/c/a/MySQ..._PHP_and_MySQL/

It all depends - do you work on a UNIX or a MS platform? I have used ASP for my shopping carts in the past since most of my clients understand MS Access & they can download that database whenever they want. You can check out www.metalinks.com for some code there.

Check with the hosting company to make sure that you are on a UNIX & they support PHP/MySQL before you start building it.
