PDF files and counters
Hi all,
I think that this is the forum to post this question on...
Basically, I HATE using word to save as html. The code it produces is horrible, doesn't usually work, and is so full of c*%p that I just can't stand to use if anymore.
Solution, save as a PDF file (for now anyway).
Problem: I'd like to know how many times the PDF file has been viewed. So is there a way of embedding a script in a PDF file, or to have a server-side script which will activate when the PDF file loads and opens a second window or a popup or something like that, which will display a counter and some additional information. Such as, "if you want to see more of this type of information, click here to visit the main site"??? I'd like to keep the pdf file in a web access folder as I'd like google and such-like to spider it so that I get hits to the file and therefore also my site.
Any ideas? Is this the correct forum
Thanks for any help
Lloyd
