Tools - Pop-up before a vistor leaves Yey or nay?

I hate those 'dont leave!' messages on some sites, so i was wondering does everyone else hate them like me? i want one on my site but don't want to annoy my visitors. Maybe like this:


and make it look good with some css too

Yes as well. If I see one, I automatically assume it's a spam site or one of those infection popups and never visit that site again.

If you really do hate them why would you even think about putting one on your site?

If people want to subscribe then they will. Make sure the user can see how easy it is to do and that you display it prominently on your site.
If after all that people don't subscribe then they just aren't interested, and bugging them to subscribe anyways won't do you any good.

Its annoying. Its like you want to leave and yet prevented to. If people want more or wanted to subscribe, they will if they are interested.
