Remote on-site mini-blog

Hi all,

Quick question to see if someone here can help me out. First, the quick intro.

I'm a school teacher & I use my website (www.mrplatts.com) for school-related projects & classwork. What I'm trying to do right now seems pretty simple but I don't want to re-invent the wheel if there is something out there that will get this done for free/very cheap. I've got some experience with php & MySql & I know I could use thos to get this done, but I really don't have time.

What I want: A small area of an already established web-page that can be changed from just about anywhere by just about anyone I choose to give access. It only has to hold a paragraph's worth of text (100 words max) and not much more. I need it to be easy to update, like a blog and also just fit right into the style of the page. I know I have seen this, it could even be like a shoutbox, though I don't want to give just-anyone control over the content.

Any quick ideas?

Rich

You could use a news script like Fusion News or Cute News for this.

Send a message via AIM to maxintosh
or b2evolution. I have found that to be better than either of them. Or it would be a relatively simple matter to write your own, if you really just need 100 words— you can set up a password protected page with a textbox, when you submit it, it puts that data in a mysql database.

Sounds like great help. I'll try out these products and if it comes down to it the textbox idea seems pretty straightforward.

Thanks!

Rich
