search page?
ok my site (coursework) contains CVs for people who sign up. Now you can search through those CVs by the things people has put in the database using forms.
These are the things that the users have put in: Skills (langauge (eg. PHP and "how much" eg. NONE,some,..) OS (NT, UNIX, windows) Certifications (Cisco, Java, Oracle) Databases(oracle....) Experience (in years) Preferences: Job type (eg. permanent/temp) worktype (eg fulltime/part) Type of job (administrater, progarmmer) What i want help in is how to create a search page? could i have small 3/4 forms on one page, one will search for skills, one can search for experience etc etc... (like if i choose a language and then press submit, i will get all the matching results..) or is there a more professional way? |

You mean like a PeopleSoft resume search? Believe me, you can do no worse! ![]() Do what makes the most sense with your data and what will be most obvious to the end user. One single form would generally be best. If a user does not select anything for a certain field, it should be ignored in the search. I'd also throw in geography in the mix since most people generally are looking for candidates in their area.
