Slicing in Imageready
Ok here is my problem. I made a template for my site and I slice and optimize it in ImageReady. I use the HTML coding generated by ImageReady as well. The problem is when I start to try to add content to the template, the images get big spaces in between them and it looks like crap. Does anyone know a tutorial site that describes how to properly slice a template so that this doesn't happen? Or can anyone just give me their own way of getting around this? Thanks.

this has nothing to do with properly slicing it...more then likely u did it correctly.
the problem often arises when people go messin with the html that it created. image ready has done its job. it has created the table structure with the correct dimensions etc. when you go playing around with it then it will get out of shape and look bad. one thing alot of people will do is stick and iframe inside the main conent area cell and call pages into that run a search in the HTML forum...theres tons of stuff out there on iframes good lucky and rock on!! ![]()

yea its not so bad...
basically if you just keep the table cell dimensions you should be ok... in the cell that you want to put the content into, use css to set the cell to have the background image that image ready set so that you can type in it with out messing up your layout feel free to do some searches or hit up the html forum if ur havin trouble good lucky and rock on!! ![]() |

Would you use a screwdriver to hammer a nail? Then why use ImageReady to write html code?
You might want to try using ImageReady for graphic production only (it's purpose) and use another tool, like Dreamweaver or GoLive, to build your site. That way, you build your site and its pages from the ground up to do 'exactly' what you want them to do without having to add functionality you don't need. not to mention the advantages of site management those programs bring. |
