You have quite a few elements which are contributing to the slowness of your page.
Additionally, many of these same elements are frustrating and annoying for most users (including myself). 1. Too much animation 2. Heavy use of frames 3. Flash navigation (this is a *big* no-no) 4. Background Music (I personally *never* revisit sites that use music) I would re-think your site's purpose and design from the ground up. You're making a lot of classic 'newbie' mistakes here. There is actually a great book written about fundamental website design, called Don't Make Me Think. You should buy this book, read it, and design your website(s) based on its principles. It would make your products worlds better than the site that you've produced thusfar.

Flash is like a spice. Know when to use it and then don't over-power the food. Your Flash serves no purpose and will do nothing but aggravate folks with slow connections.

Using flash to be your banner is good IF it's wisely done or embedded in your webpage.
My suggestion is to use static images for your website and try to add some animations by the future updates. |

I agree with everything the others are saying.
But on another note, does hotmail and yahoo know that you have links to their email services because if not they can give you some serious grief about copyright laws. |

Downloaded fast for me (1.5 Mb downstream though so don't read too much into that.)
You aren't infringing on any copyright that I can tell by linking to Yahoo! Any link that might get them or anyone else a sign-up is fine with most people. Not sure about the use of other companies' logos though. The music is annoying...big time...and it's not immediately obvious you can turn it off. The flash is very impressive but largely pointless. You might want to stop the indefinite looping at least. If you want to keep the Flash nav put a text link to a site map in there somewhere. Frames are, generally, bad for your site if you want a search engine to find all the pages. Good looking site, you obviously worked hard on it, it just needs a little more thought to make it more user friendly. Last edited by Enterprise : October 11th, 2003 at 04:47 AM. |

Unless your trying to do an interactive demo, product brochure/online commerical/slide show, Flash should never be used for "general page design/use".
Never use BG music usless some kind of product commercial that appears in a seperate box. "Click here to watch product X video". I still see some good uses of frames, however they do not serve to help with search engine placement. Some things to consider: Using text links with CSS a:hover functions can give your page a dynamic feel without the added DL time of picture graphics. Keep your site quick loading and rather small, especially the index page. Other page types, say an image gallery, people will wait for if they know it has a large quanity of pictures, etc. Remeber, 80%+ of the world still uses Dial up. |
