Trouble finding that perfect font
Well ive ben doing my site for a few months and i really thought Tahoma was the font for me. Well after i started adding chunks of text to my page (as before i had only been graphically designing it) i found Tahoma wasn't right. It fitted for my side menu and it also worked for the logo and top menu but when it came to a paragraph of text it seemed really ugly. I think the problem is the size and the fact its so thin but i cant change that otherwise it doesnt fit. I tried Microsoft Sans Serif which also seemed to fit the style but that still doesnt seem right.
The site is http://www.leeksoftware.co.uk and i would like to know what sort of font would fit. If you check out the tutorial you'll see why Tahoma doesn't look right. Does anyone have any recommendations? |

Arial...cliched, perhaps, but, it's a goody.

I prefer Verdana myself.

Verdana's good, but can be quite wide. I also like Lucida sans and Helveltica.
Those are about all the cross-platform ones you can really rely on ![]()

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm going to try Lucida Sans.

Have you fully thought of the company name? Why not try Leek Software Design/Development. You could advert: "Not satisfied with your web-site design? Why not try LSD?!"

Talk about accessibility... On my IE 80% of the time the page does not load. Either I get a page full of nonsense, or a dialog whether I want to download the file or open it. |

Works fine for my IE6

IE5.5, company policies restrict some stuff... like javascript :-)
I do build javascript-only sites as well, but the site should always notify, if it requires javascript. All I got was that nonsense. Or save page -dialog. |

It doesn't require javascript, it should just render the page normally without it.

you could always try 'lucida grande' or as mentionned 'arial'. 'trebuchet ms' is also a good idea to try.

Personally I prefer Sans-serif fonts for headings and titles, and serif fonts for body text.... I just find it makes reading the page easier.
