Uploading video to a page
I'm looking to add a feature to my work's website. I would like to have someone browse their computer and upload a video (mpg or avi) and then have the webpage updated to either show a link to play the video or even the video embeded into the site and ready to just hit play.
Am I crazy to think this cant be done? http://www.clientbydesign.com/instant-audio.html is an example of how you can just hit play to hear the sound using Flash. I want to show the video. thanks for any help |

Yes it can be done by a server-side language that can use FTP functions for example, then dynamically read a directory on your server and create links automatically.
It wouldn't be too difficult, can you use PHP or ASP on your server?

Yea that's exactly what I was thinking. Is there any sample code out there that I might start with to learn? I'm looking on hotscripts and sourceforge now for something I can start with.

Search for these functions at www.php.net if you are going to use PHP:
