viewing directories

This isn't a question for creating webpages, but more for when viewing peoples' webpages and files. When you go to a website, is there anyway to view their files underneath that website in the standard way a website looks like if there is no index? i.e. is there a way for a user to go to a site like http:\\www.missouri.edu/~kahvc7 and instead of seeing the regular webpage index.html, see the list of subfolders and files to that address?
