Web design proposal

I spoke with a possible client and he asked me to put together a proposal for making his company's web-site. I quote him, verbatim:
"If you put together a formal proposal with timelines and costs - we can see if you are a good fit for this project. "

Where can I find guidelines for making these proposals?

thanks

Talking

have not seen any online material about this......
there are some key points.......

- you need a part for the scope of the works / services you provide, starts from a domai registration, and goes up to web site suport after being launched.........
- what should client do in this contract goes in another part.....i mean if he should provide content, the format of content, and .... goes here......if he is to bring you some pics, then when and how.....
- you need a time schedual....what you do and when, and what client does and when.........and if any one was late what would happen......
- how much you get and when you get it, goes in another part....
- you need some one to be your judge.....if you did not agree on some point sof contract, then you can specify someone to go to him, before going to court!
- put your signs there, and that's it........good luck...

but, the parts of the contract or proposal, depends on the size and complexity of the project too......for large or complex projects, we usually prepare an rfp (Request For Proposal) and then people propose on that basis, or some clients for big projects, first ask for a technical proposal, then attach a modified version of that to the contract.......i feel your case is a small project......if you think i can help.....drop me a message......

thanks for the reply. I would categorize this company as an midium size business as it brings $60,000,000 a year. I'm kinda nervous about asking for too much money and them have them turn me down, and at the same time I don't wanna ask for too little because of that.

Thumbs up

SME (Small- Medium Enterprise) or SMO (Small- Medium Organizations) are the worst part to work with.....they know much, want much, and dont have moeny to pay.....they believe they can do everything by themselves...so dont pay good money....

But that is name of the game......you should not give out a very clear proposal in Financial part at the first........give them some options in proposal, and then give them a range in fin. part.....and see how they act......its not one time thing....let them see how expert you are in technical part of proposal......and then see how much money they want to spend.....then sit in a meeitng and finilize it.......

Where r u located?
