Website with shopping cart
Hi Im looking into designing a website with a shopping cart for over 100 products.
I understand I can link through to PayPal but havent done this before - any tips?
I also need to give an estimate of the cost of the site but I dont know how long it will take, as I havent done one before. What is a fair price for this type of website?

If you just want 'buy now' paypal buttons you just need to register an account and write a unique piece of code for each merchandise.

Since you have about 100 items you should go with a database. I would recommend osCommerce 'Loaded' as your shopping cart because thats what I work with.

You can charge whatever you client will give you. Make sure you meet all their expectations.

hmmm.....do you mean you have never done a site with a shopping cart or never done a site?

For a general site without shopping cart a standard type rate would be 100-$150/page sometimes with an inital design flat fee around $200. This would include adding meta tags and doing some search engine optimization.
Generally the shopping cart would be a seperate fee outside of that--an add-on to a standard website package.

If you haven't done a site before at all I would strongly recommend writing up a contract....
