What does it mean to have https - and how do you do it?
I will have a merchant account credit card payment option on my site.
What I'm wondering is what does it mean to have something on secure (SSL?) https - and how does one actually have something done this way. what do i need to do it. Is there any other general standards I should meet for basic safety? Thanks |

Hosting a page on a secure server means just that: any info transmitted from that page is encrypted, so it is secure from prying eyes. If you intend to take credit card info on your site, you MUST use a secure server to protect your customers and yourself.
Contact your web host for info on how to put pages on a secure server. |
