what is possible?

Not sure if this is the right forum to post this?

Basically i have been doing some research and it seems it is possible to create a script that can search the net and visit certain sites and then send certain info back to you.

Basically what i want is for something that visits gambling related sites and takes the latest news, tips, prices etc... and sends them back to me, then i check them and put them up on my site.

I will credit all the sites that i get info from and will even promote those sites with free banner advertising so hopefully it isnt illegal.

Basically i need to know is this possible? what would someone need to create to make such a script? etc.....

Many thanks for your help.

Definately something I dont think would be worth your while.

The amount of time it takes for you to develop it, and/or the money will be much more than you should be absorbing, considering you can find all the resources on your own with an invention called 'google.com '

I say you do it manually, all on your own. The deed is done

RSS feeds? If the site is providing an RSS then you know they won't have an problems with you displaying their content.

Indeed, Craig is right, RSS is your best option. If the website doesn't offer such a feed then it'll be very difficult, and quite possibly illegal, to take news and headlines from another website and displaying it on your own.

I can see why you're trying to do it, but as mentionned, it really isn't worth the time. If you're still keen, I would certainly read into the legality of it. I'm not certain, but it really doesn't sound like something you'd be allowed to do without permission.
