Google has listed every page and item but yahoo and others only do main pages.. why
I have got a shopping cart site that uses the following method for its products pages..
and so on
Google search engine currently has around 99% of the items listed but Yahoo and MSN and others only seem to have the main pages line ../contactus.html and /homepage.html
Is Google the only search engine that supports URL's that use the ?item=123 method or is there something else I have missed ?

The other SE's do support that sort of URL format, but most likely not as well as Google does. Maybe they don't see your site with the same relevance as Google does. Maybe they haven't crawled the site properly. Maybe their algorithm doesn't work the same as Google does. Maybe they are looking for a different type of site map... There's many different reasons for this happening, but most times a bit of patience is all that's needed.

google spiders crawl each site through algorithm. this is how they make rankings more effectively.
