What is an easy way to create a website that queries a rest api
I recently started playing a game that I found out has a RESTful api. They present the results in either XML or JSON.
I haven't programmed in a long time so much of my knowledge and skills are out of date. I initially wanted to pull all the data and parse it into an RDBMS tables. But after reading up on REST, it seems like that would go against the whole concept.
What I want to achieve is to create a page that has select/drop downs as well as input boxes. After selecting the criteria, submit, and display the results.
I want to query the content for the select/drop downs from the REST api. I googled for tutorials on how to do this and there were plenty of results, but I can't figure out what the easiest language/code for someone with little experience to choose.
I am looking for advice/suggestions on languages/libraries and development software.
