I assume 1 MySql means 1 database, not 1 simultaneous connection? Do you have a number for that stat?

I signed up with 4dwebhosting, which was easy enough. It was leaving that they can't tolerate. They claim 24/7 service. Absolutely not true. I initially enlisted for their service and was more than satisfied for a good 7 months. At that point (around March, 2003) there was a complete breakdown on their part. I don't know if they were merely experiencing growing pains or were just imcompetent. Either way, their service basically went to hell three consecutive Fridays, leaving me hanging until Monday as they provide no direct support, merely a web-form that goes days, often weeks without being responded to.

Finally I was forced to a new company. A major pain in the ***, but the reliability of a "real" organization more than made up for it. I notified 4dwebhosting of my intent to discontinue their service. Three weeks later (yes, you read that correctly) I was finally acknowledged (the last week-and-a-half required daily e-mails on my part). Even then they wouldn't do anything about, just acknowledged it. About another week later they confirmed that they had cancelled my account. Imagine my surprise when my checking account was debited a week later for their "service." When I questioned their practice their only response was to prove to them that my account was indeed debited!!! I guess their accounting department is as incompetent as their "technical service" areas.

This still isn't resolved and they won't acknowledged my requests for information. My counsel is preparing legal action...as soon as they track them down. 4dwebhosting is so shady they won't publish a phone number, physical address or e-mail contact on their website. Don't make the same mistake I did, look elsewhere.

I would personally never give money to any site for anything if they do not have a physical address or phone number.

Telephone no.'s are becomig more and mroe important these days . We have people manning phones , however only 10-5 , and not 24x7 . thats just for email support. Nor do we have any Toll Free etc. But , once i received a email from a hosting directory /advertisemtn site promising us a discount over normal rates just because they said they were patronizing companies providing Phone numbers and Physical address .

Well if you run a legitimate business (ie You have registered a business or company name, do all the tax and accounts correctly, etc) then there is no reason for you to not put your address and phone number on the site. If you don't run a legitimate business (most likely those people that patronised you don't) then I wouldn't deal with you.

If something goes wrong you will be sitting there unable to do anything half the time.

I have no objection to Disgruntled for posting his/her.

But I would like to point out that we don't mislead customers by saying we have an office or a phone number, so if somebody signs up, they shouldn't get mad at us if we do not have one when they have a problem. We offer hosting services for $4.95 to $14.95 per month and thats pretty cheap. Why do you ask, well maybe because we dont have phone numbers and have big offices.

We target for a budget service, it's our strategy and it is working very well. 99% of our clients are happy, and we are proud to serve web hosting in this forever changing industry!
