Alacart is everywhere?

Hi I'm looking for a nice looking shopping cart and delving into my present host's setup found they offer AlaCart for a setup fee. Their one only supports having 20 items and it doesn't look very good. I was searching around to find some stuff out about AlaCart and discovered that there are hundreds of hosting companies offering it but there's no information around about who actually makes it or real documentation.

I don't know why but I'm deeply suspicious of Alacart. I wondered if anyone has a verdict on or any suggestions for something to go with. I'm leaning toward trying out Phpshop or Freetrade at the minute something PHP MySQLish.

You can code your own shopping cart using servlets and JSPs. I have mine up and working. You can go to:

you may have to modify the code an bit to suit your need but it works great. Select an item, add to cart, delete from cart and checkout.
