I have been desperately searching for a host for a VERY long time now and I was wondering if anyone knew any good hosts and how your experience was with them. Thanks in advance!

What I usually suggest to people is talk to others around you where you live. You can usually trust they are not trying to sell you something and share real stories about there host.
If you look here there can be people that are just seeding conversations for money or free hosting. It's hard to tell and honestly how do you know? |

For a Mercedes-class host, I recommend futurequest.net. Top-grade support, seldom needed. They own their data center, & it's a superb one. 99++% uptime. Excellent support forum with a large, helpful, satisfied community of fellow clients. I was with them for nearly 3 years but moved on because I am non-profit & needed a lower-priced host. Another thing -- FQ has been tested by major exploits against them more than once, and has survived and moved ahead. They know how to repel boarders {many hosts do not.}
For a Honda Civic host-class, I recommend my present one -- jatol.com. I'm going on 3 months with them now. Good, fast, competent support. They have a forum, but they're fairly new so the customer base is still pretty small. Their admin software {for billing, help desk, knowledge base, etc} gives every evidence that they have a staff of full-on geeks {& I use "geek" in the most complimentary sense.} grace & peace to you.... bellgamin |

im with 123-host-me.com and so far ive had no problems, no server downtime and the owner who does use this site) keeps checking back to see if everything is ok (via msn and email), he is the 1st paid host i ever used and was pretty cautious as you hear a lot of bad stories and hes not been aroung long, but the way i figured was hes not gonna run and change his address over the amount of money i paid and he was fairly close to me.
he seems like he will be around for a while and hes also pretty friendly guy and helps with whatever he can ive only been with him for a few weeks but at the moment im getting what i paid and the fact i can speak to him pretty much all day if i ever have a problem anyway i just thought i would suggest him to you

Lol, very nice! As soon as a host says Unlimited Space/Bandwidth then i just move along to the next one and i would suggest you to do the same but that is up to you.

Yeah, it always depends on what you pay.
I used to do the cheap hosts, then i went to the more expensive, now i just own my own. I sell enough to cover my costs (which aren't much) and then i don't oversell, since i want to keep the systems optimized. Though i actually just expanded capacity recently. <edited> if you own many domains, i would recomend just getting a reseller account somewhere or buying your own server. i own about 8 which is why i did.
