Anyone using 50free.com?

Hey
I've been using 50free.com for a while, but I simply used PHP scripts and accessed it via my wap phone before.
Then I tried uploading a html webpage today, and for some reason i'm getting the error message:

Access forbidden!
You don't have permission to access the requested directory. There is either no index document or the directory is read-protected.

If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.

Error 403

I've tried everything I can think of as to what it is, and the file does exist, and i've even tried linking to other files, and files in folders, and it won't let me get to any of them!

I did just renew my hosting today, but I don't see how that could have affected it.

Any ideas?

thanx,
-Luke

Angry Same here

Ok, 50free have 2 servers, the second is working fine, the first has been "deliberately" or by accident (but not on its own) changed. this problem is common to everyone my friend

Maybe because most people on the first server have accounts that support 999 domains hosted !

Maybe the owner regrets such a generous offer and wants to get rid of them ! i really dont know, but im waiting for my domains to resolve to a new dedicated server i have !

It is not something you did.

Thank-you Yozzy
So long as I know there's nothing I can do to fix it.

I found a much better free host anyway and now have an account with them.
Also, just incase they do deliberately want to get rid of me, I went and deleted everything of mine off their damn server

It actually could be quite plausible as they've had a notice up saying no new free sign-ups for a while.

But they can go screw themselves for all I care now

thanx again,
-Luke

Lets post it

I must say its nasty, my domain names still resolve to 50free i got a dedicated server, but i am still addicted to free hosting too bad looking for free hosts now is not really what i should be doing i hardy have 100MBs out of 60GBs occupied

Anyway, i can't help ask who the new free host is since my buildguide.net is about building free websites

So if you can be kind enough to tell me so that i can help other people find free hosts (while i setup free hosting myself if i can)

Thanx mon ami

Well I found it in a post on here just as I was checking back for replies on this thread a few days ago.

I'm sure you've heard of it - WHM-Host

For anyone wanting to sign up, you need to join the forum, then make at LEAST 5 posts, THEN make a thread requesting free hosting. It's not bad, but also not amazing either.

Disk 50-100mb
Bandwidth-2gb
Cpanel- Not avaliable
Uptime 99%
1SQL, FTP, POP3 Account
No banners or ads

It just seems to suit my needs for now. Although i'm pretty sure i'm gonna need more bandwidth and space soon. But those specs are what I would get with the $60 per/yr host I almost signed up for

Now for me to go check out your site..

-Luke
