Beware of Bad HOSTS

Somewhere on this board I found a recommendation for FeaturePrice.com. I went through and they had what I was looking for. Somehow, I neglected to note that they had annual plans only. The next day when I get my receipt I notice I've been charged an annual price, and write in to cancel. They're refusing to cancel my account even though I haven't even logged in their system or uploaded anything. They say I need a "technical reason" to cancel. I've went back and forth with their billing department, and boy are they rude. I even told them they could charge me a cancellatoin fee. Read their terms of service and see how rude they are. I don't recommend anyone go with this place, their customer service is awful. We called them and they told us the billing department moved to Austria?? Go figure. They're going to lose a lot of business, because had they been a good host, I would have recommended them to my customers.
FEATURE PRICE SUCKS!

There's gold in them thar hills

I host sites with featureprice. I have found their customer service and tech support to be quite responsive. I got charged the annual payment...but I knew it was coming when I signed up. They had a server die on them and bent over backwards to make up for it. Their pricing is pretty good too.

Not trying to be contrary here. Just want to show another personal experience.

Well, it looks like I'm going to be sticking with them. They've totally put me on the ig now, and I'm not going to hassle myself any longer. Glad to know that you've had a good experience and hopefully from here I won't have any more trouble. But, boyyyy was that guy A-HOLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good for you! May as well make the best of a "bad" situation. With their 5 domains, 500 megs, full php & mysql support deal it may not be all that bad!

BTW what does "ig" mean?

ig = ignore. Yeah, nice to make the best...but I really don't like bad customer service. It's just like shopping at Best Buy--great deals, but either everyone's an idiot or they don't want to sell you anything if you're not buying their performance plan.

I hear ya

Yeah...bad customer service sucks....

Speaking of which...i had some problems transferring a domain from the domain registrar www.reg2c.com

I sent several pleas for help. They NEVER even responded. In the end the guys at featureprice helped me out...did ALL the work in fact. Turns out they had to change the IP address for one of their nameservers. I didn't get the notification of the change (my fault...I likely deleted the e-mail by mistake when I was culling spam from hotmail). At any rate, they did everything...solved the problem and sent me a confirmation e-mail saying I could ask for help any time.

Best of luck...I think you'll find featureprice take good care of their customers...
