cheap domains
I have a web development co. and find myself buying domain names often. where is the best place to buy a domain name? I do not need hosting just the domain name.
Currently I buy from godaddy.com for $8 a domain. Does anyone know of something cheaper? |

Gotta be careful with some hosts out there....they will charge you $5 to register a domain and then charge you $35 to move it to another registrar.

In order to help those reading this I checked out the sites recommended above. (thanks to those who responded)
yahoo will only let you do one at the price of 4.98 1and1 for $5.99 - only for US or UK customers ev1 - Domain registration is temporarily down for maintenance. If anyone else has any suggestions or has personally used any of the above please post it! |

What is your volume like? (Per year)
We can give you much better deal if volume is ok. For 100 domains per year (new, extensions or transfers) the it could be $7.49 for .com, .org, .net, .us, .biz, .info and .name domains). We can also give you facility to register yourself from your desktop on predeposits. Deal could be sweeter if the volume is higher. Subodh http://www.adps-domain.com Powering E-Business |

If you purchase numerous domain names it may be beneficial to look into getting a domain reseller account -- this could save you money in the long run. Peoples are still selling $6.95 enom accounts which would allow you to purchase domain names for $6.95.

Save about $0.50 a domain roughly. A $6.95 domain reseller costs about $200 - Here For example
Now, that would mean that you would have to buy 400 domains just to pay the reseller off.. hmm... No offence, but why would anyone want to do that unless they had a big domain company or they buy ALOT of domains? Regards Steven Billings |

People would do that because of exactly what you and I both said: they have a company selling domain names or they buy a lot of domain names. ![]() |
