ColdFusion hosts that also enable PHP?

Are there any ColdFusion hosts that also enable PHP, or vice versa?

I'd like to convert my site, but can't do it overnight...

I believe mediaresolutions does:

http://www.mediares.com

I have had a fairly good hosting experience with them so far (6 months).

I looks like their Linux boxes have PHP and the NT boxes have CF. they don't seem to have a plan that has BOTH.

Am I missing something?

Can I really trust anyone who only charges $50 for an entire year?!?!?

(edited)

Oh forget it... I don't want any host with a policly like this:
Quote:
...Sites containing adult material are welcome at Data Packet Networks.
This invites nothing but trouble...

Aren't there any legitimate CF + PHP hosts out there?

Check out CommuniTech.Net

I worked there for 2 years and still have all of my websites hosted there.

They offer a ton of features, inlcuding PHP / Cold Fusion and a killer CP they developed in-house that is incredible.

If you decide to check it out, please go through our affiliate link at:

Thanks and god luck!

Best Regards,

David Young

They do have both, but they ain't cheap! $63/month for Unix and $89 for Windows.

The Unix one is not a lot more than the $52/month I pay now so I'll definately consider it.

The problem is that I'd need to have a month overlap to convert from my current NT/MS Access CF account to the cheaper Unix/mySQL account.

Thanks for the tip!

No problem!

I know that they are a little expensive, but they are well worth it.

Let me know if you have any other questions at david.young@markation.com as I know their products inside and out!

Good luck!

Hmm..

Is there any particular reason why you're looking into both?
Usually I've found that people go with one or the other..

At one point we did have PHP and ColdFusion on our 2K servers and offered it to people.

The reason we decided to take ColdFusion out was because of the resources it was hogging. (Servers going down every few weeks)

Installing ColdFusion on linux wasn't an option either because it performs much better on 2K.

The best option was to offer the two separately and for special requests, give two separate accounts and pointing the DNS to the different servers.

www.domain.. to the CFM server
and www2.doman to the one with PHP.

I'd suggest sticking with PHP because hosting costs are nothing compared to ColdFusion

Yeah... My site is currently CF, and I'm looking to convert to PHP. but I don't yet know PHP well enough to do this quickly.

My goal is to slowly convert to PHP, and then get a much cheaper PHP hosting account.
