DevShed Hosting

I was wondering what host Devshed actually used, do they use their own servers or do they use a hosting service.

If they do use a service, what is it, and are they any good

I did about 10 minutes worth of research and from what I can gather, Devshed hosts their own FreeBSD server off of InfoWest, a Southern-Utah based ISP. Check out InfoWest if you want. I didn't look too in depth, but it doesn't look like they offer hosting solutions directly.

IceMan, no offense, but I think m0nk3y had that figured out. I mean all it takes is to check with www.ipindex.net, but the question was - what do they host on? Its like www.sourceforge.net is registered to 'Exodus Communications Inc' but I think is based on like 50 boxes with some oc coming to them. I think only name is registered...

Well, if its any consolation, DevShed has 5 of the IPs on its Class C and at least 3 different boxes.

how did you come up with 5 ips anyway? and how is 5 ips mean 3 boxes? you could have quite a number of nics on 1 box.

5 IPs? Simple. a reverse dns on the entire Class C, 5 came back with .devshed.com addresses.

3 Boxes? Netcraft. Notice I said "at least." Netcraft shows them as having at least three different OSs running, therefore at least 3 boxes, they could have 5, or more, I don't really know.
