Dns?

How can I have my domain name hosted on my computer using DNS?

I am using Windows XP if that helps with Apache, PHP, and mysql.

Assuming you have you have a decent network connection - yes. You would just need a DNS server to respond for your domain and point the user to your computers IP (you'll also need to make sure you have a dedicted IP address).

I'm not familiar with windows DNS server but the best bet would be to go with one of the free DNS servers that will host your DNS for free (I believe there are a couple of these still in operation).

Hope this helps,

Greg

Thumbs up free public dns

check out http://www.granitecanyon.com they are a free public DNS service for both primary and secondary, you set up the dns entry yourself however you want it to be.. look through the FAQs for help (and links to sites with auto-utilities) on setting up the entry itself. I use it for a couple of my personal sites.
