I recently requested a transfer from the registrar who registered our domain name to the hosters we had chosen.
Could anybody give me some information regarding the timescale of this - or could they point me towards somewhere on the web that gives an explanation of name servers and how the whole process works? Thanks, Ben. |

Inter*ic updates thier DNS databases. THis is not done immeadiatly because it takes up too much Proccesor power. It could be 24 - 72 hours untill the next database update.

Yes, 2,3 days is normal. Now, Internic doesn't have the detailed record of all domain, they just have the basic info, like who you registered your domain with, and then your registrars will actually update the DNS record to your host
