general hosting question
If I host my own site through a port other than 80, and get a domain name, how do I get it so that the domain name defaults to port 8080 and not 80, its pretty annoying to put mysite.com:8080...

the ports have nothing to do with the domain name and you cannot setup a domain to default to a port, things dont work like that. The domain name simply gives the web browser an IP to connect to. From there it connects to port 80 by default.
